Linea del Tiempo
LACMA, Los Angeles

Color embodies an historic timeline of where and when pigments are harvested, the knowledge embodied within the seasonality of nature and labor, and the relationship that the artist generates with the ecology itself. Every plant holds a database of its birthplace and the conditions of how it grew, which means a piece of art made with its color  will be an archival of information that represents a time and history that will never be repeated.

Linea del Tiempo is an 18 sculpture in dialogue in a sound shower installation that I'm presenting at LACMA. This installation situates art within the work, the act of making and becoming. There is no boundary or border, no hierarchy of  process and the finished piece. In building an artistic narrative, I'm calling into question the complexities of defined roles, perceived values and identities that are the constructs of language, society, and human perception.

Linea del Tiempo/Time Line is part of  Live in Painting, Getty, PST, Art & Science Collide.
